Cole McBride’s big day on the diamond helped the Yellowjackets rally from a tough loss to Jefferson City on Tuesday as the Lebanon baseball team posted a key 6-2 win over the Joplin Eagles at Oley Scott Field. With the win, Lebanon is now 10-5 overall and 5-2 in the Ozark Conference race and continue to be in the chase for the league title with a pair of key games scheduled for next week.

On Tuesday, McBride got the start on the mound and improved his overall mark this season to 4-1 as he went all seven innings, allowed two runs on three hits. He walked two and struck out four. And at the plate, McBride hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first to give LHS an early 2-0 lead, then capped a four-run fifth inning with another two-run home run.
