The Lebanon girls’ tennis team have won five of their last six matches after defeating the Willow Spring Bears on Wednesday night at Lebanon High School, 6-3.

The Yellowjackets honored four seniors on Wednesday after the match, including Megan Adams, Ashleigh Dallas, Hannah Lowery and Maeva Rivoal.

Lebanon head coach Ron Crowell spoke very highly of each senior.

Megan Adams - “In only her second year of playing, she has taken over our No. 4 spot and is dominating,” Crowell said. “She has come a long way in a short time and is playing great tennis.”

Ashleighn Dallas - “She plays at the top of our JV lineup but is playing the best she has ever played,” Crowell said. “She is a true leader on this team and she leads by example and she is a tremendous role model for our younger players.”

Hannah Lowery - “She is our top player and she is having a great year,” Crowell said. “She has been a part of and has contributed to some great teams and she has been a huge part of our success. She is playing the best tennis of her career and it has been fun to watch.

“She has teamed up with Zephanie White to form one of the top doubles teams in the Ozark Conference.”

Maeva Rivoal - “She is a french foreign exchange student,” Crowell said. “She has fit in very well with everyone and she has a great attitude and the team has enjoyed getting to know her.”

LHS started the night off right, taking two out of three doubles matches, including wins from Lowery and White at No. 1 doubles and Adams and Addi Myler who teamed up to win at No. 2 doubles.

“Hannah was sensational in doubles teaming up with Zephanie White to win 8-6 in doubles,” Crowell said. “Megan Adams won both her doubles and singles matches in convincing fashion and played extremely well.”

In singles play, the ‘Jackets got wins from White (No. 2), Myler (No. 3), Adams (No. 4) and Skyler Maynor (No. 5).
Overall, Crowell was pleased with his teams’ performance on Wednesday.

“It was a great night to honor a great senior class and the team responded with a solid win over a good Willow Springs team,” Crowell said. “I thought our girls came out fired up and ready to play and I hope we can carry it over into our next match.”

In junior varsity action on Wednesday, the Lebanon girls’ tennis team got victories from Hayley Jones and Jenna Holldorf in doubles action. They were also able to get vicotries from Emma Miller and Dallas in doubles, Olvia Pruitt, and Journie Decker and Monica Montoya teamed up in doubles.

Lebanon (5-4) is coming off a tough loss on the road to the Bolivar Liberators last Thursday and were slated to take on Rolla Thursday on the road.

“They (Rolla) are a tough team and one of our biggest rivals,” Crowell said. “I know the girls are looking forward to going out there and giving it all they have.”
