The Lebanon High School golf team has been on a tear in the past week after recently competing at the MSU Relays in Springfield and the Bolivar Invitational on Monday afternoon.

At the Bolivar Invitational, Lebanon brought home the first place trophy with a team score of 350 out of 12 teams.

The ‘Jackets finished 19 strokes better than second-place Willard and ten strokes better than third-place Logan-Rogersville.
LHS junior Cooper Hess won the invitational with a low score of 73, and junior Tryn Titus took fourth with a 78.

It is the second tournament that Hess has won this season.
Senior Hayden Brogdon finished 10th with an 85 and freshman Grant Carr shot a score of 104 and Houston Bracket scored a 113 to round out the ‘Jackets’ day.

“The conditions at Bolivar were very tough, so the scores that were shot are excellent scores for our guys,” Lebanon head coach Zach Hines said. “I think our guys are starting to find a rhythm and it has definitely shown as of late.”

At the MSU Relays at the Payne-Stewart Golf Course in Springfield, the ‘Jackets finished the day in second-place, just three strokes behind first-place Rockhurst who shot a team score of 308.

In 2017, Rockhurst won the Missouri Class 5 state championship.

Hess, Titus, and Brogdon all performed well once again with Hess coming in second overall with a 72, Titus scored a 74 and finished fourth and Brogdon in the top ten with a 78.

Carr shot an 87 and Brackett finished with a 98 on the day at the relays.

“The guys have played very well the last couple tournaments,” Hines said. “MSU was a great tournament as well coming in second behind Rockhurst with Cooper and Tryn in the top five and Hayden taking 10th, so there was some great play that day.”

Lebanon is slated to play against Camdenton at Old Kinderhook on Wednesday starting at 9 a.m.
