After a rough game against the Joplin Eagles last Friday night on Homecoming, the Lebanon football team is scheduled to take on the Kickapoo Chiefs (1-6) on Friday in its week 8 match-up on Senior Night at ‘Jacket Stadium.

LHS will honor 22 seniors before the start of tonight’s contest.

Lebanon head coach Will Christian said the game is in the rearview mirror, as the ‘Jackets look forward to Friday's contest.

“We talked through things on Monday, and it is what it is,” Christian said. “Obviously there is plenty of things for us to learn from last Friday and it was disappointing. From coaching staff to players, we did not perform we desired to do so.

“We have no excuses. Our team needs to just hit the reset button and come out and play better football (Friday).”

The ‘Jackets struggled on both sides of the ball last Friday in a 35-0 blowout loss and were unable to do much all night long as the Eagles were able to stay atop the Ozark Conference standings.

“A game plus F game does not equal good game,” Christian said. “Kudos to Joplin. They are a nice team, and I thought they executed in every facet extremely well.

“They are well coached, and I thought they did a tremendous job on the little things.”

Although the Chiefs’ record might not look great, they still have explosive playmakers all over their roster, according to Christian.

“Even though their record might not show, they are a solid team,” Christian said. “I would be willing to say they are the best 1-6 football team you are going to find around.

“They have threats and are well coached, and have three returning all-conference players from a year ago, so they are a team we respect.”
