Just a sophomore, Malik Culp has earned a varsity spot on the Lebanon High School track and field team as a thrower, competing in both the shot and discuss this season.

Culp says he has been a part of track and field since seventh-grade and has participated in both events and did the 100-meter relay in eighth-grade. Lebanon head coach Shane Rebmann says Malik Culp has come a long way since last year under the tutelage of assistant coach Garrett Wade and recently threw over 40 feet for the first time. He is currently No. 2 on the ‘Jackets’ depth chart in the shot put.

“We are really excited about what Malik can do in the future,” Rebmann said.

The Daily Record recently caught up with Culp and asked him about the upcoming season.
