Statement from Lebanon R-III School District

The Lebanon R-III School District has released the following statement after an incident occurred between the Camdenton football coaching staff and Lebanon football coaching staff after the Sept.1 game:

Emotions often run high when the Yellowjackets face the Camdenton Lakers in sporting events due to our longstanding rivalry.

The Lebanon School District does not condone the events that transpired after Friday night’s (Sept. 1) football game, and continues to encourage good sportsmanship from our athletes, coaches, and fans. The Lebanon School District has worked in conjunction with the Camdenton School District to review the incident, and has taken appropriate action.

The Daily Record has learned that two Lebanon coaches received 10-day suspensions from the football program following the incident. The coaches were not allowed to attend practices or last week’s game.

The district declined to comment further on the incident.
