Tennis team falls in season opener

The Lebanon boys’ tennis team fell in its season opener against Waynesville on Monday, 4-5.

“It was a great match and we had chances to win,” Lebanon head coach Ron Crowell said. “The effort from our team was outstanding,”

After going down 0-2 in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, the brother duo of Aaron and Bryson Crowell were able to defeat Steven Berrios and Derek Anglin, 8-2 at No. 1 doubles to get Lebanon on the board.

Tennis fans were able to get a look at the ‘Jackets top newcomer this year in freshman Bryson Crowell, who has already taken over the No. 1 singles spot as a ninth grader.

After a slow start and trailing 0-3, Crowell was able to comeback and defeat Steven Berrios of Waynesville, 8-5.
