After transferring in from Springfield Central, Lebanon senior Junior Torres has made quite the impression this season on the hardwood for the Yellowjackets boys’ basketball team.

At 6-foot-1, Torres has played a key role for the ‘Jackets this season. Known for his defensive presence, Torres usually finds himself guarding the opposing team’s best player night in and night out. After struggling early on in the season, Torres has found a nice rhythm over the last month scoring the basketball with multiple double-digit scoring performances.

In his third year in the NFL, Lebanon graduate Justin Britt has found a home at center this season playing for the Seattle Seahawks. It is the third position he has played in his three years since being drafted in the second round in 2014 following a standout career at the University of Missouri.

But Britt says being a versatile athlete has been an important part of his makeup as an athlete, starting at Lebanon.

CAMDENTON — Lebanon ended its own losing streak and kept another alive on Tuesday as the Yellowjackets spoiled Senior Night on for Camdenton, defeating the Lakers, 71-57.

But it didn’t come easy. Mired in a long losing streak that saw the Lakers last post a win on Jan. 20, Camdenton seniors Dyllan Decker and Hunter Glynn came out red hot with Glynn scoring 12 first-quarter points and giving the Lakers an early 20-9 lead.

Meet the ‘Jackets Cole Roark talks about competing at state championships

The son of Lebanon wrestling head coach Randy Roark, freshman Cole Roark was one of four Yellowjacket wrestlers to compete last weekend at the Missouri Class 4 state championships at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.

At 120-pounds, Roark lost to two-time state champion Malik Johnson, of CBC in the opening round. A native of Waynesville, Johnson has committed to wrestle at the University of Missouri and went on to win the state title.

‘Jackets fall to Vikings on Senior Night ‘Jackets honor four seniors on Friday

Senior Night didn’t go exactly as planned on Friday at Boswell Auditorium, but four Lebanon senior got to play their final game on their home court and Keon Carter, Jack Ehrhardt, Clayton Richerson and Junior Torres were honored during ceremonies prior to the game.

Those four also got the start and all had their moments despite a 66-57 loss.

Lebanon seniors Jack Ehrhardt and Junior Torres led the offensive attack, with Ehrhradt finishing with 17 points and Torres adding 16, including seven points in the fourth quarter.
